What does your role look  like at PC?

As Director of Copy & Content, I oversee the development of cross-channel marketing communications and advertising campaigns from concept through execution, spanning traditional, digital, video, and social. I always strive to create work that combines strategic insight with emotional intelligence, ensuring every message is as purposeful as it is persuasive. Unlike a lot of creatives, I don’t mind rules and restrictions. They usually lead to some of my best work.

Two things about you’d tell a total stranger about yourself?

I wrote a book called “The Rock ’n’ Roll Field Guide to Guys” that got praise from a couple of writers from The Daily Show.

My social media follows are a study in madness—everything from exotic car detailers to ultramarathon runners to this one guy who just drives around and makes fun of people’s mailboxes. It’s no surprise I find humans deeply fascinating. It’s a big part of why I live in New York.

What types of agencies and companies have you worked with?

I’ve been at some of the most recognized from New York City to Seattle and back again. A few companies are Google, Wunderman Thompson, Razorfish, and Barnes & Noble. I’ve also led integrated campaigns and creative teams for global brands such as Goldman Sachs, Citadel Securities, Nestlé, Delta, Capital One Bank, MasterCard, Eli Lilly, Amazon, Microsoft, AT&T, and Dove. I’m passionate about elevating brand narratives through collaboration, detail, and creativity.

My advertising hero will always be Angela Bower from Who’s the Boss?

Any recognition to brag about?

Let’s see. Does recognition from Cannes Lions, the American Advertising Federation, and MediaPost’s OMMA Awards count? If so, then yes. I’m also a published author with Penguin Books and former journalist. The strongest ideas always start with a curious mindset and an anthropologist’s eye for culture.

Last meal?

A soft pretzel with yellow mustard and an ice-cold Diet Coke would be my ultimate last meal. I also have a soft spot for yellow birthday cake out of a box with chocolate frosting—80’s kid birthday party-style.

What are you passionate about outside of the office?

For me, it’s all about finding time to expand my urban garden. I used to scoff at people who were obsessed with plants. Now my living room is a jungle and I’ve progressed to growing wildflowers on my roof.  I’m a proud parent of two rescue dogs, and volunteer for New York Cares and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture’s Freedmen’s Bureau project.
