Abby Slenker: Director of Social Strategy & Accounts, Olympic Sports Expert, Crocheter Extraordinaire
What does your role look like at PC?
As Director of Social Strategy & Accounts, I make sure everything stays on track, all the time. I’m involved in just about everything from timelines to overseeing social media strategies, planning, ideation, execution, and reporting. I’m hands-on and collaborative with everything I do, especially when it comes to my clients’ success.
Fun facts about yourself you’d use as an icebreaker at a cocktail party?
I have an extensive knowledge of maple syrup and how it’s made from my time growing up in Vermont, so I love talking about that—it was literally part of our curriculum in school!
Before joining PC, you worked with one of the most accomplished U.S. Bobsled teams in history. What was it like being part of that journey?
Working with USA Bobsled & Skeleton has been such an incredible experience. Being immersed in the world of Olympic sports and getting to work alongside so many talented athletes is something I’ll always be grateful for. One of the things I loved most was that no two days were ever the same. I was constantly thinking on my feet and always motivated by the opportunity to help shine a bigger spotlight on the sport and its athletes.
Favorite food you couldn’t live without?
Chicken Caesar wraps… especially when they’re served with fries and an ice-cold DC (a.k.a. Diet Coke)
What could you talk about for hours that has nothing to do with your job?
Crocheting! I love making everything from hats to blankets, and I could happily talk about yarn, patterns, and new project ideas all day if given the chance. One of my favorite things to make is baskets to hold even more of my crochet projects in!
